· Bär & Karrer advised Viseca Payment Services on its joint initiative with Cornèr Bank to develop PayInit, a P2P money transfer infrastructure for worldwide instant transfers between people, based on Mastercard and Visa payment cards. The Bär & Karrer team working on the matter included Daniel Fluehmann (pictured), Marlene Lienau Schindler (both corporate/M&A), Mani Reinert (competition law), Özden Omürcan (notarial services), as well as Markus Wang (IP/IT).

· Baker McKenzie Switzerland advised the Schulthess Group in connection with the refinancing of its syndicated senior term and multicurrency revolving credit facilities agreement. The transaction’s amount hasn’t been disclosed. Zurich-based Markus Wolf (banking & finance, pictured left) and Geneva-based Tatiana Ayranova (banking & finance, pictured right) led the Baker McKenzie team on the matter, working alongside Alexander Blaeser (corporate/M&A, Zurich), Diana Bellido Gomes (corporate/M&A, Geneva), Andrea Bolliger (tax, Zurich), and trainee lawyer Sebastian R. (banking & finance, Zurich).

· VISCHER appointed managing associates Basile Walder, Elias Mühlemann and Luzius Zumstein to head the firm’s startup desk. The trio succeeds partners Christian Wyss, Damien Conus and Gian-Andrea Caprez, previous heads of the desk. In a public statement, the firm referred to the renewed tenure as a “new generation” in charge of the desk, a service which currently counts thirty one members.
