Homburger advises Platinum Equity in its acquisition of Solenis 

Platinum Equity announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Solenis, a global producer of specialty chemicals used in water-intensive industries, from Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and BASF in a transaction that implies an enterprise value for Solenis of USD 5.25 bn. 

Homburger advises Platinum Equity on the Swiss legal and tax aspects of the transaction. The Homburger team includes partners Stefan Kramer (financing and investment products, pictured), Andreas Müller (corporate / m&a), Stefan Oesterhelt (tax) and Richard Stäuber (competition; regulatory), associates Margrit Marti (corporate / m&a) and Yves Bianchi (competition; regulatory), and junior associates Matthias Müller (corporate / m&a) and Yannick Rüfenacht (financing and investment products). 

As part of the transaction, Solenis is expected to merge with Sigura Water, an existing Platinum Equity portfolio company the firm acquired in 2019, for a total combined transaction value of approximately USD 6.5 bn. The combined company is expected to generate approximately USD 3.5 bn of revenue and serve a diverse range of customers around the world in consumer, industrial and pool water treatment markets.
