IBM acquires StreamSets and webMethods: the advisors
Homburger advised International Business Machines Corporation (“IBM”) on its definitive agreement with Software AG, advised by Niederer Kraft Frey (“NKF”) and owned by Silver Lake, to purchase StreamSets and webMethods, Software AG’s Super iPaaS (integration platform as a service) enterprise technology platforms, for EUR 2.13 bn in cash. This complex carve-out transaction was successfully implemented simultaneously at closing and involved over 50 jurisdictions.
Homburger’s team

About the acquisition
StreamSets will add data ingestion capabilities to watsonx, IBM’s AI and data platform, while webMethods will give clients and partners additional integration and API management tools for their hybrid multi cloud environments. IBM announced on July 1, 2024, that it has completed the acquisition after receiving all required regulatory approvals.
