The advisors on OC Oerlikon’s Barmag divestment to Rieter

Homburger and Lenz & Staehelin are the two Swiss firms involved in OC Oerlikon’s divestment of its Barmag textile machinery business for manmade fibers to Rieter. In connection with the deal, Homburger is representing the selling part, OC Oerlikon, while Lenz & Staehelin is advising the buyer, Rieter. The operation is subject to customary closing conditions.

The context

The agreement set the business at an enterprise value of CHF 850 m with an earn-out of up to CHF 100 m

Pursuant to the transaction, Oerlikon will become a distinct pure-play surface technology company, thus serving a plethora of industry industries including automotive, aerospace, energy, luxury, medical, defense and semiconductors.
