Schellenberg Wittmer with Nemak on GF Casting Solutions’ automotive business acquisition
Schellenberg Wittmer served as Swiss legal counsel to Mexico-based Nemak, a BMV-listed provider of lightweighting solutions for the automotive industry, on its acquisition of GF Casting Solutions’ automotive business, headquartered in Switzerland. The selling part, GF Casting Solutions, is a division of SIX-listed Swiss industrial company Georg Fischer.
In connection with the deal, A&O Shearman acted as international lead counsel to Nemak.
The transaction, closed on 12 February 2026 at USD 336 million, involves the entirety of GF Casting Solutions’ automotive business, including an R&D center located in Switzerland, and nine production facilities located in Austria, China, Romania, Germany, and the United States, with approximately 2,500 employees.
