Alnylam Pharmaceuticals appointed Francesco Vazzana as senior director

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, the RNAi therapeutics company, has promoted Francesco Vazzana (pictured) into the role of senior director, legal counsel international. Vazzana, who is based in Zug, Switzerland, will be reporting to Arianna Greco, Alnylam’s SVP and head of legal international.

In his new role, Vazzana will be providing legal support to teams and regional leadership, along with defining and implementing strategies and tactics relating to products, along with the handling of litigations related to the promotion of medicine.

Vazzana joined Alnylam in 2018 as legal counsel international. He most recently served as director, legal counsel international. Vazzana supported affiliates in Italy, Portugal, Benelux, Nordic countries and negotiated international distribution contracts, in particular in Turkey and the Middle East, as well as coordinated the litigation. Prior to joining Alnylam, Vazzana served as legal counsel at Eli Lilly & Co. pharmaceutical company. He started his career as an associate at Italian Law practice Buffa Bortolotti Mathis, where he practiced civil and commercial law. He later moved to Nctm law practice, where he focused on pharmaceutical law and business.
