Altenburger successfully represents lastminute.com in VAT controversy 

Altenburger legal + tax assisted Bravonext, Chiasso, a Swiss company belonging to LM Group, listed on Six Swiss Exchange as lastminute.com NV, specialists in online travel and leisure arrangements, in a VAT controversy against the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (FTA). 

After a VAT inspection launched some years ago, the FTA issued a taxation assessment under which it claimed that Bravonext incorrectly applied the VAT on flights intermediation, for an amount of CHF 1.5 million, with reference to Swiss domestic flights sold through its platform lastminute.com. 

Altenburger partner Sebastiano Garufi Giuliani (pictured) together with associate Niccolò Figundio represented Bravonext in this case and demonstrated that Bravonext has been compliant with Swiss VAT legislation. The FTA subsequently withdrew its claim and closed the case.
