Baker McKenzie advises Marvell on Polariton deal

Baker McKenzie has advised Marvell Technology on its acquisition of Polariton Technologies, a developer of high-speed, low-power plasmonics-based silicon photonics devices. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Baker McKenzie advised Marvell on all legal and tax matters related to the transaction through a cross-border team spanning the US, Switzerland, and Belgium. The team was co-led by M&A partners Leif King (Palo Alto) and Alexander Fischer (Zurich).

The Swiss team covered corporate/M&A with Cathrin Marxer (senior associate), Andrew Tyau (senior associate), and Sultan Aydin (associate); dispute resolution with David Rohner (associate); employment with Christoph Stutz (partner) and Peter Reinert (senior counsel); tax with Susanne Liebel-Kotz (partner); regulatory with Roger Thomi (partner); and IP & technology law with Nadine Charrière (associate), alongside trainee lawyers Lukas Bader and Valentine Daendliker.

The US team included Tom Oslovar (partner) on corporate/M&A; Barbara Klementz (partner), Kela Shang (partner), Freya Ingalla (associate), and Nicolas Macaluso (associate) on employment; and Emily Chan (associate) on IP & technology law.

The Belgian team comprised Geert Bovy (partner) on trade & commerce, and Stephanie de Potter (associate) and Maximilien Tscharner (associate) on IP & technology law.
