Baker McKenzie advises Planzer on acquisition of Quickpac & Quickmail

Baker McKenzie has advised the Swiss family-owned company Planzer, on the acquisition of Quickpac and Quickmail. Quickpac is a tech start-up for smaller parcels in German-speaking areas of Switzerland, it relies on modern IT applications and is the first parcel service in Europe to use only electric cars.

Quickmail was founded in 2009 and specializes in the delivery of mailings, magazines and catalogs, serving over three million households in all parts of Switzerland. With the acquisition of Quickmail, Planzer is expanding its range of services to include addressed and unaddressed items. Planzer intends to retain Quickmail as a brand and an independent organisation.

Planzer was founded in 1936 and has been a family-owned public limited company since 1966. Today, the logistics company employs around 5,900 people and is present at 69 locations in Switzerland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Germany, France and Hong Kong. The company places particular emphasis on sustainability.

Baker McKenzie advised Planzer on all legal aspects of the transaction.
