BianchiSchwald: BDL acquires Blanchisserie du Léman
The French company BDL Développement “Bulle de Linge” has acquired the Geneva-based Blanchisserie du Léman. The Labrunye family, owners of BDL, is an entrepreneurial family active in textile care (under the RLD brand, now known as Kalhyge) and dry cleaning (under the 5àsec brand). However, these activities have been progressively sold off since the end of the 1990s, to reposition itself, in 2007, in the laundry care and clothing sector for people living in residential homes (elderly and/or disabled), under the Bulle de Linge brand.
The group owns 11 factories in France, 1 in Spain and has over 600 employees. The acquisition of Blanchisserie du Léman, a provider of linen rental and maintenance services to the hotel and healthcare sectors in French-speaking Switzerland, is part of this development strategy.
BianchiSchwald has advised BDL Développement on this transaction. The team was led by partner Hélène Weidmann (M&A, pictured left) and included associate Linda Cetkovic (M&A, pictured right), partner Stéphanie Fuld (labor law), senior associate Alexandra Uffer (labor law), managing associate Gianni Fera (tax law) as well as junior associate Luca Ruggiero (M&A).
