BIL Suisse appoints Tobias Kamber general counsel

The Swiss unit of Banque Internationale à Luxembourg is adding two executives to its management team. Among those, the appointment of Tobias Kamber (pictured) as general counsel, starting in January 2021. He will also sit on the executive committee of the bank.

 

Kamber has more than 16 years of experience in legal, risk and compliance affairs in private banking in Switzerland and Hong Kong. Before joining BIL Suisse, he was deputy general counsel private banking at Julius Baer and head of the legal team in private banking for Switzerland and the EMEA countries. Kamber started his career in private banking in 2004 as legal counsel of Clariden, before joining Julius Baer in 2007.

Also, Hartmut Vollmer will join BIL Suisse as Head of Wealth Management Growth Markets which include China, Eastern Europe and the Middle East as of 1 April 2021. He will also become a member of BIL Suisse’ Executive Committee. Hartmut Vollmer joins BIL from Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) where he led the Eastern Europe team. He had been a member of the Bank’s Private Banking management committee since 2011. Prior to UBP, Hartmut Vollmer held management positions at ABN AMRO in Switzerland from 2000 to 2011.

As a third major personnel appointment, the bank also announced that Ralph Ebert, its chief compliance officer, will become a member of the executive starting January 1, 2021.
