MLL with Crypto Finance on the sale to Deutsche Börse Group

The Deutsche Börse Group, an international exchange organisation and innovative market infrastructure provider, acquires a majority of the shares in Crypto Finance, a Swiss crypto broker and asset manager.

Through the acquisition, Deutsche Börse further extends its offering for digital assets by providing a direct entry point for investments, including post-trade services such as custody.  As part of Deutsche Börse Group, Crypto Finance will be able to further scale the business and expand the range of digital asset services.

MLL advised Crypto Finance on all legal and tax aspects of the transaction. The team was led by Alexander Vogel (partner and head of MLL’s corporate and finance department, pictured) and included Thomas Nabholz (partner tax), Michael Reinle (partner IP/ICT), Sergio Bortolani (partner corporate) Reto Luthiger (counsel fintech/regulatory), Christian Rebell (senior associates m&a), Florian Müller (senior associate and notary public) as well as Julia Pugliese (junior associate m&a).

Headquartered in the Swiss Crypto Valley in Canton Zug, Crypto Finance, a fully FINMA-licensed securities firm, offers trading, storage and investment services for digital assets to institutional and professional clients. The transaction is scheduled to close in autumn 2021.
