Customs Support expands European footprint with acquisition of Balimpex

Customs Support Group, a portfolio company of Castik Capital; an independent, digital and neutral provider of customs services in Europe, has acquired Balimpex from its founders. Balimpex is an international freight forwarding and customs company based in Switzerland.

Founded in 1981, Balimpex is a provider of customs clearance and related services for a wide variety of goods. With approximately 70 employees across 10 locations, Balimpex serves its clients at all strategic border crossings between Switzerland and Germany, from Basel to Lake Constance, and at the French border crossing of Saint-Louis / Basel.

Bär & Karrer acted as legal advisor to Customs Support Group in this transaction. The team was being co-led by Christoph Neeracher (pictured right) and Philippe Seiler (pictured left) and included Elisabeth Rinderknecht and Lazar Lepir (all m&a), Luca Tarzia (commercial), Susanne Schreiber and Cyrill Diefenbacher (both tax), Laura Widmer, Laura Rubeli and Fanny Sutter (all employment), Micha Schilling (financing), Rocco Rigozzi (real estate), Tobias Rebmann (antitrust) as well as Rehana Harasgama (data protection).
