EFG International acquires Cité Gestion: the advisors

EFG International completed the acquisition of Swiss private bank Cité Gestion. Niederer Kraft Frey advised the buyer on the transaction, while Lenz & Staehelin represented the selling part.

The parties

The selling part Cité Gestion is a Swiss financial institute with headquarters in Geneva. Its multi costudy business specialises on serving UHNWIs domiciled in Switzerland, Western Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. The bank closed the 2024 financial year with a net income of around CHF 6 million, holding approximately CHF 7.5 billion of Assets under Managemen.

The buyer, EFG International, is a Swiss private bank offering private banking, asset management, and other financial services across 40 locations worldwide.

The closing of the transaction is planned for the second half of 2025, being subject to regulatory approval.
