Garrigues first EU law firm to exceed €450m in revenue
Garrigues has reported a 2.51% increase in global revenues, reaching €454.27 million in 2023. This makes the Spanish law firm the first EU law firm to exceed €450 million in revenue after ten years of continuous growth.
In Spain, the firm generated €396.7 million, growing by 2.72%, while international business contributed 13% to the total revenue. Garrigues saw growth across all practice areas, with Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions leading at 32%, followed by Tax (30.3%), Dispute Resolution (11.8%), Labor (11.3%), and Administrative and Constitutional (8.2%).
Fernando Vives (pictutred), Executive Chairman of Garrigues, emphasised the firm’s commitment to solid and profitable growth, cost control, and strategic investment in the face of global challenges.
In 2023, Garrigues focused on sustainability, achieving 100% renewable energy consumption in European offices and offsetting 100% of CO₂ emissions from Scope 1 and 2.
Digital transformation remained a priority with a €64 million investment over five years. Garrigues developed its Generative Artificial Intelligence platform, Garrigues GAIA, promoting collaboration between lawyers and technologists.
The firm expanded its digital ventures with a controlling stake acquisition in EADTrust, leading to the creation of GoCertius, an application certifying digital content with a qualified timestamp.
Celebrating 50 years since the opening of its New York office, Garrigues has grown to become the largest law firm in the EU, with 30 offices across 12 countries on four continents.
