CMS advised private equity investor Halder on the acquisition of Newemag

The Frankfurt-based financial investor Halder has acquired Newemag, suppliers of machine tools in Switzerland. All parties involved have agreed not to disclose the details of the transaction.

By way of acquiring Newemag and together with Suvema, acquired in October 2019, Halder establishes the leading technology provider for tailored CNC machine tools in Switzerland. Combining the competencies of Suvema and Newemag within one group enables the joint exploitation of additional growth potential.

A team from CMS Switzerland, led by partner Stephan Werlen (corporate/m&a, pictured), advised Halder on all legal matters of the transaction. The Zurich and Frankfurt private equity and M&A teams with the partners Stephan Werlen and Oliver Wolfgramm advise Halder on a regular basis. The CMS Switzerland team also included associates Pascal Stocker and  Alexandra Stoker (both corporate / m&a), counsel Simone Brauchbar Birkhäuser (IP/IT), associate Katja Bertsche (real estate) and trainee commercial Patrick Neher.
