Homburger advises UBS on its digital bond offering

As we have informed last 8 November 2022 here, UBS has launched its CHF 375 million senior unsecured digital bond. UBS, acting through its London branch, successfully completed its inaugural issuance of digital bonds, consisting of CHF 375 m 2.330 per cent. Notes due November 2025. The bonds are digital only and issued on the blockchain-based platform of SIX Digital Exchange (SDX) while being dual listed and traded on SDX and SIX Swiss Exchange. This setup enables investors to invest in a digital bond irrespective of whether they have the blockchain infrastructure available.

Homburger advised UBS with respect to all transactional aspects of Swiss law. The team was led by Benedikt Maurenbrecher (pictured) and included Stefan Kramer, Eduard De Zordi, Lee Saladino and Daniel Hulmann (all capital markets), as well as Stefan Oesterhelt (tax).
