Homburger enforces Illumina’s sequencing by synthesis patents in court

The Swiss Federal Patent Court handed down a judgment confirming that the two Illumina patents in suit, EP 1 530 578 B1 and EP 1 828 412 B2, are valid and infringed by BGI/MGI sequencing chemistries and kits. The Federal Patent Court granted Illumina injunctive relief. Defendant may appeal the judgment to the Swiss Federal Supreme Court.

Homburger acted as sole Swiss legal representative of Illumina in this litigation. The Homburger team was led by partner Andri Hess (ip / it, litigation, pictured) and included counsel Julian Schwaller (ip / it, litigation) and associate Andrea Heiniger (ip / it, litigation).
