Kellerhals Carrard: Aarberg wood-fired power plant
In its ruling of 20 November 2023, the Federal Administrative Court fully upheld an appeal by Holzkraftwerk Aarberg and decided that the electricity generated with so-called problematic wood waste (A IV wood) must also be remunerated at the full rate. This significantly strengthens the utilisation of waste wood in Switzerland and the generation of electricity from biomass. The judgement sets a precedent for the entire industry.
