Kellerhals Carrard elects Philippin as chairman and MP

Kellerhals Carrard has appointed Edgar Philippin (pictured left) as chairman of the board of directors and managing partner, following a vote at the firm’s annual General Assembly.

Philippin is a partner at Kellerhals Carrard’s Lausanne office, where he advises on company and contract law as well as M&A transactions. He also holds a professorship at the University of Lausanne and serves as an arbitrator and board member across various foundations and boards of directors.

Outgoing chairman Beat Brechbühl (pictured right) described Philippin as the ideal successor to carry on the firm’s spirit and values, particularly in the context of AI. Philippin, for his part, stated that the firm’s ambition for 2030 centres on placing people at the heart of its operations, with employee and client satisfaction as the top priority.

Board changes and new appointments

During the statutory part of the assembly, Bernd Hauck and Jean-Christophe Hocke were elected to replace retiring board members Marco Balmelli and Clarence Peter. Nicolas Gillard succeeds Philippin as the representative for Lausanne/Sion.

Tiziano Sabbioni has also taken up the role of COO. He previously held senior positions at innovation workshop Creaholic and is expected to drive the firm’s further development in the AI era, drawing on his background in digitalisation and entrepreneurship.
