Kellerhals Carrard with RIVR on acquisition by Amazon
Kellerhals Carrard advised RIVR — a Zurich-based autonomous robotics startup spun out of the Robotic Systems Lab of Professor Marco Hutter at ETH Zürich and now part of Amazon — as the company raised a total of USD 25 million, including a USD 22.2 million seed round led by Bezos Expeditions and HSG (Sequoia’s Chinese arm), with co-investment from Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, ARMADA Investment AG (Zurich), and Linear Capital (Shanghai).
Goodwin Procter supported on all US law aspects of the deal. Moreover, Kellerhals Carrard’s China Desk, led by the firm Shanghai office, worked with HSG and Linear Capital among RIVR’s investors.
