Lalive Uplifts Legal Talent with Counsel Promotions
Lalive, the renowned international law firm, has announced the appointment of five outstanding legal professionals to the esteemed position of Counsel. Effective January 1, 2024.
The elevated individuals, Noémie Raetzo, Angelina Sgier, Anton Vallélian, Sébastien Zulian, and Luis Miguel Velarde Saffer, each bring a unique set of skills and a wealth of experience to their respective roles. Their promotions reflect Lalive’s dedication to nurturing and advancing its legal talent and reinforcing its position as a leading global law firm.
Noémie Raetzo joined Lalive’s Geneva office in 2017, is a dedicated litigator with expertise in both civil and criminal proceedings. Her practice primarily revolves around commercial disputes, fraud litigation, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, and asset recovery.
Angelina Sgier became a part of Lalive’s Zurich office in 2020, specializes in domestic and cross-border litigation. Her areas of focus include banking and commercial litigation, white-collar crime investigations, debt collection, insolvency law, and proceedings related to asset tracing and recovery.
Anton Vallélian is also based in Lalive’s Geneva office. He has been with the firm since 2016. He brings his extensive knowledge to domestic and cross-border disputes, as well as international arbitration and public international law. Anton is well-versed in advising States and international organizations on matters concerning international responsibility, privileges, and immunities.
Sébastien Zulian joined Lalive in Geneva in 2017, specializes in domestic and cross-border litigation involving private clients and commercial law disputes. His practice particularly emphasizes matters related to inheritance and family businesses.
Luis Miguel Velarde Saffer joined Lalive’s Geneva office in 2022 with a professional journey that led him from a prominent global firm in Paris. He is a specialist in international commercial and investment arbitration. He holds a particular focus on Latin America and Spain, demonstrating his proficiency across various industries, including mining, construction, energy, and transport.
