Lenz & Staehelin assisted in the creation of IFFEd

Lenz & Staehelin assisted in the creation of the International Finance Facility for Education (IFFEd), a Geneva-based non-profit foundation which has officially become a fully independent entity on July 1st, 2023.

IFFEd is an innovative new financing facility for global education and skills development, specifically designed to tackle the education and skills gaps in lower-middle-income countries (LMICs) by providing low-cost finance that can benefit seven times more children and youth compared to traditional grant aid. It aims at mobilizing up to USD 10 billion in additional international finance towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 by 2030.

The team was led by partner Benoît Merkt (foundations & philanthropy, pictured) and notably involved partner François Rayroux and Delphine Meylan (both finance & regulatory), partner Frédéric Neukomm (tax), Benjamin Moret, Valentin Muller and Luca Riscanu (all foundations & philanthropy) as well as Emilie Jacot-Guillarmod (corporate) and Paul Michel (employment).
