Mainova expands its services with the acquisition into mobiheat

Mainova, an energy supplier based in Frankfurt am Main, has acquired a majority stake in the Bavarian energy service provider mobiheat, including its subsidiaries in Austria and Switzerland, from Energieversorgung Offenbach (EVO) and the mobiheat founders.

With the transaction, Mainova is further expanding its own energy services business and thus utilizing the great market potential in the attractive business field of mobile heating and cooling centers. As a specialist for mobile heating, cooling and steam centers in German-speaking countries, Mobiheat is a successful and well-established player.

Vischer advised Mainova on the transaction on Swiss legal and tax issues, with McDermott Will & Emery as lead counsel. The Vischer team, led by partner Robert Bernet (corporate/m&a, pictured) included Peter Kühn (counsel, corporate/m&a), Ruben Masar (managing associate, corporate/m&a), Gian Geel (senior associate, employment), Christoph Niederer (partner, tax) and Veysel Oruclar (associate, tax).
