Baker McKenzie advised Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group on its negotiations regarding a hotel management agreement relating to the luxury hotel Savoy Baur en Ville in Zurich. The hotel, which is currently managed by Credit Suisse, first opened in 1838 and is a landmark property on Paradeplatz, the main square in the city center.
In early 2022, the hotel will close and undergo a comprehensive interior renovation to reposition the hotel as the market leader in the city. As part of the redesign, work will include reducing the total number of rooms, providing a more spacious accommodation. Upon completion of extensive renovations in 2024, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will manage and re-brand the property as Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich.
