Mark Branson moves from FINMA to BaFin

Mark Branson (pictured) is stepping down as Director of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA. He will assume the role of President of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority BaFin in mid-2021 in Germany. Mark Branson has been with FINMA since January 1, 2010, initially as Head of Banking Supervision, from 2013 also as Deputy Director and since April 2014 as Director. 

The operational management of FINMA will be taken over by Jan Blöchliger on May 1, 2021 and until further notice. The Board of Directors has already initiated the process for the election of the new FINMA director.
