Netrics sells its infrastructure division to Dutch group NorthC

The Swiss cloud provider Netrics Group has sold its data center and connectivity division to the Dutch NorthC Group. The company has announced that the remaining business will be focused on expanding its cloud offerings and consulting services. In addition to the three company-owned data centres, Netrics occupies space in two Equinix data centres and an Interxion facility in Zurich.

The Dutch operator, which specializes in the operation of data centers in Europe, has landed in Switzerland by acquiring three facilities in Basel and Biel.

The seller is a company focused on modern workplace, cloud transformation, communication, network and datacenter. Pascal Schmid, Netrics CEO, added: “NorthC offers data center and connectivity services of the highest quality and is therefore the ideal partner for us. This gives our customers access to even more extensive infrastructure services. At the same time, this step allows us to concentrate fully on the strategic future areas of cloud and modern workplace as well as the expansion of consulting services. A real win-win situation.”

Bär & Karrer acted as legal advisor to the seller in this transaction. The team was co-led by Christoph Neeracher (pictured right) and Philippe Seiler (pictured left) and included Thomas Rohde, Carlo Hunter, Marie de Gottrau and Lazar Lepir (all m&a). The tax team was formed by Susanne Schreiber, Kerim Tbaishat and Martin Leu. Micha Schilling and Janine Wüst from the financing area as well as Markus Wang, Tobias Rebmann and Annina Läubli (all IP/IT) also took part on it. Rocco Rigozzi from real estate was also part of the advisors legal team.

On the other side, NorthC has been advised by Greenhill acting as m&a advisor, with Hogan Lovells and Prager Dreifuss serving as legal counsels on the transaction.
