Niederer Kraft Frey advised GF on divestment of machining division
Niederer Kraft Frey advised Georg Fischer (GF) on its agreement with United Grinding Group, a Swiss-based grinding technology company, to sell GF’s Machining Solutions Division. The transaction values the division between CHF 630 million and CHF 650 million.
The deal is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approval from relevant
anti-trust authorities.
Nieder Kraft Frey acts as lead counsel to GF in connection with the divestment and the related carve-out transaction.

GF is an international industrial corporation headquartered in Schaffhausen (Switzerland), active in piping systems, building flow solutions, and casting solutions. As part of its restructuring, the company will
concentrate on these core markets, while divesting its machining division.
United Grinding Group
United Grinding Group has over 100 years of history and more than 2000 employees globally. The majority shareholder of United Grinding is Patinex AG, a Swiss holding company wholly owned by Martin and Rosmarie Ebner. Together, GF Machining Solutions and United Grinding will combine forces to form the leader in precision machining.
