NKF advises Minka SGS on its sale to Paul Reinhart
Paul Reinhart has acquisted Minka SGS. Reinhart is a global merchant of cotton and other agricultural products. They are a leading player in the international cotton trade, which forms the foundation of the business for more than two centuries. Located in Winterthur, the company has been family-owned and -managed ever since it was established in 1788.
The cocoa bean sourcing company Minka SGS has local subsidiaries in five cocoa producing countries. It was founded in 2012 also in the Swiss city of Winterthur by Stefan Bloch and Paul Schönenberger. Having gained decades of experience in raw material procurement and supply chain management, they combined their know-how and passion for cocoa to form the trading company or as they define, a multi origin exporter company.
Niederer Kraft Frey has advised the sellers on the sale of Minka SGS. The first part of the transaction was completed in early July 2023. The NKF team was led by partners Manuel Werder (pictured right) and Andreas Casutt (pictured left; both corporate/m&a), working with associate Binderiya Gan-Ayush (corporate/m&a), partner Daniela Schmucki (tax), associate Daniela Lötscher (employment) and junior associate Niklaus Hatz (corporate/m&a).
