NKF’s counsel for Shearwater investment on Mondaic AG

Niederer Kraft Frey (NKF) with a team led by Espen Werren helping with Norwegian law matters, provided legal counsel for Shearwater’s new investment in Mondaic AG.

As a result of the agreement, Shearwater has obtained exclusive and perpetual rights to utilise and advance Mondaic Ltd’s wavefield simulation and inversion codes, together with an equity stake in the company.

Shearwater

Founded in 2016 in Bergen, Norway, Shearwater is a global marine geoscience and technology business employing over 1200 people. The organisation explores the the seabed by using the state-of-the art seismic vessels and processes the data using market-leading proprietary software. 

Mondaic AG

Mondaic AG, a start-up born in 2018 at the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), provides proprietary software and services for high-resolution 3-D imaging using ultrasonic or geophysical waves. According to Lion Krischer (Director of Software and Products) the strategic collaboration with Shearwater will be “key for applications in ultrasonic inspection”.
