Homburger acted as counsel to Paragon Partners, an independent private equity firm, in connection with certain financing aspects of the acquisition of Sovendus, a provider checkout-based online marketing tools.
With the support of its new majority owner Paragon Partners, Sovendus plans to accelerate growth in Germany and other European countries over the next years, as well as invest in the development of its existing products to further improve relevance and reach.
Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, with additional offices throughout Europe, Sovendus offers its clients in the e-commerce sector a range of innovative, data-driven and artificial intelligence-powered marketing and customer retention solutions. In November 2020, Sovendus had acquired its Swiss competitor adfocus, which developed a network for e-commerce shops called Profity.
Homburger advised Paragon Partners with regard to all Swiss legal aspects of the financing transaction. The Homburger team was led by partner Jürg Frick (financing and investment products, pictured) and included associates Stefan Bindschedler and Fabrice Eckert (both financing and investment products) as well as partner Stefan Oesterhelt (tax).
