Peter & Kim Expands Its European Footprint with Zurich Office

In a significant move to strengthen its position in the European arbitration market, Peter & Kim has announced the opening of a new office in Zurich, Switzerland’s bustling business hub. This strategic expansion underscores the firm’s commitment to the German-speaking arbitration landscape, and its intent to further solidify its presence in the Swiss arbitration arena.

Peter & Kim initiated its focus on the German-speaking arbitration market by welcoming partner Flavio Peter (pictured) to the team two years ago. The addition of the Zurich office is a pivotal milestone that cements the firm’s status as an international law firm with a strong foothold in Europe and Asia, specializing in international arbitration. Boasting a team of nearly 50 multilingual professionals trained across various civil and common law jurisdictions, Peter & Kim has emerged as a global arbitration powerhouse with a proven track record in handling arbitration cases across diverse industry sectors, including investor-state disputes.

Wolfgang Peter, co-founder of the practice, commented on the Zurich expansion, stating, “Our Zurich expansion confirms Peter & Kim’s standing as an international law firm with offices in Europe and Asia, all fully specialising in international arbitration. With nearly 50 multilingual professionals trained in several civil and common law jurisdictions, Peter & Kim stands at the forefront of global arbitration firms with a track record of arbitration regarding all main business areas and investor-state disputes”.

Leading the Zurich office is Flavio Peter, and the current team includes Senior Associate Rodica Turtoi and Associate Clio Mordivoglia. Peter & Kim has ambitious plans to further expand its Zurich-based team in the near future.

Both Geneva and Zurich are well-established arbitration hubs, consistently ranked among the most favored seats for international arbitration. The launch of the Zurich office is a strategic move aimed at bridging the gap between the European and Asian arbitration markets, further enhancing the firm’s global presence.

Flavio Peter, Partner at Peter & Kim, expressed his enthusiasm about the new venture, stating, “I am extremely excited to start this new chapter with Peter & Kim. Whilst Peter&Kim have given me a new professional home, I now return to my original professional roots. Together with Wolfgang Peter and Konstantin Christie, and our growing team, we will refocus our presence in the German-speaking region and continue our strive for excellency.”
