CMS advises Spanish start-up Playtomic on the acquisition of GotCourts
Spanish start-up Playtomic, a sports booking platform and SaaS for sport venues, has acquired all shares in GotCourts, a swiss stock corporation based in Zurich, Switzerland.
GotCourts is a social network for racket sports players and an online service for booking courts and coaches. Founded in 2014, GotCourts has grown rapidly in Switzerland and is now scaling internationally. The company currently connects 250,000 racket sports enthusiasts.
A team of CMS Switzerland led by managing partner and global co-head of the corporate/m&a group Stefan Brunnschweiler (pictured), acted as Swiss legal counsel for Playtomic on all legal aspects regarding the acquisition. CMS Switzerland worked in collaboration with team members from CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo (CMS Spain).
The CMS Switzerland team also included corporate/m&a senior associate Andrea Relly, associates Alexandra Stocker and Samuel Felix Gang. IP/IT partner Dirk Spacek and counsel Simone Brauchbar-Birkhäuser. Tax aspects of the transaction were handled by partner Mark Cagienard, working with tax associates Jens Lehmann and Dominik Penkov.
