Roche has acquired Obi Medical: the advisor

Roche Holding, the Switzerland-based research healthcare company engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, has acquired Obi Medical, a Denmark-based company engaged in developing v-Tac software for blood gas testing.

The acquisition will enable Roche to develop Roche v-TAC, a digital diagnostic solution that allows medical institutions to obtain results for arterial blood gas values in a simpler manner. The Roche v-TAC has been developed by integrating Roche’s cobas infinity point of care solutions & Obi’s v-TAC technology.

The advisors

Roche’s general counsel Claudia Bockstiegel (pictured) followed the legal aspects for the company. Internal activity see the involvement also of  CEO Severin Anton Schwan, CFO Alan Hippe and Chairman Hans Christoph Franz.  

Danish law-firm Accura advised Roche in connection with the acquisition of OBI Medical. The team was led by partner Noel Strange-Obel Johansen.

OBI Medical’s CEO Bjarne Flou followed internal activity for Obi.
