Schellenberg Wittmer with AVVEC against domestic violence
Schellenberg Wittmer has renewed its partnership with the non-profit organization AVVEC (Aide aux Victimes de Violence en Couple) to support the association’s mission to assist victims of intimate partner violence, in honour of the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women” on 25 November.
The firm, led by managing partner Pascal Hubli (pictured), reinforces its commitment to social responsibility, continuing its collaboration with the organisation founded in 1977 to support people affected by intimate partner violence, including women, men, and LGBTQ+ individuals. The organisation also extends help to children and their mothers exposed to such situations, recognising their significant vulnerability.
With domestic violence affecting all social classes in Switzerland and disproportionately impacting women (83% of victims), AVVEC’s work remains critical. Every two weeks, the country faces a tragic death due to domestic violence.
To raise awareness, AVVEC launched WAST (Women Abuse Screening Tool), an online self-test, where people can easily identify their own risk of being a victim of intimate partner violence, that you can find here.
