Signed, Sealed, Weekend – 25/07
Week Ending Friday – 25/07
Welcome to “Signed, Sealed, Weekend”, our inside track in the Swiss legal scene. Let’s see what happened this week in the Swiss legal market.
We start with Walder Wyss, advising Polaroid as the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI), after initially refusing the application, approved the registration of a colour mark for the brand. The trademark in question consists of a combination of five colours.
Next up, Homburger has started a new partnership with Google Cloud, centered on the integration of the Vertex AI platform. Through this collaboration, the firm aims to develop a new generation of internal AI tools designed to support legal workflows across its practice areas.
Finally, Niederer Kraft Frey (NKF) advised issuer Banco de Chile on all Swiss law aspects in connection with the offering and issuance of senior fixed-rate social notes, for an amount of CHF 100 million. The bonds, now listed on the SIX, have a six-year maturity.
