Three developments caught the Swiss legal market’s attention this week, from a cross-border public takeover offer to private investment in the insurance sector and a partner appointment in Geneva.
Ahlsell launches CHF 45.50-per-share offer for Meier Tobler
Bär & Karrer is advising Ahlsell on its all-cash public tender offer for all publicly held shares in Meier Tobler Group, the SIX-listed Swiss company.
The offer values each Meier Tobler share at CHF 45.50. Ahlsell is indirectly held by CBC Capital Partners, a portfolio company listed on Euronext Amsterdam.
The transaction marks another notable development in Switzerland’s public M&A market, with Bär & Karrer advising the bidder on the proposed acquisition.
Kellerhals Carrard advises on investment in Alpiora
Kellerhals Carrard has advised Swiss insurance brokerage group Alpiora in connection with an investment by Gaius Capital.
The financial terms of the investment have not been disclosed. The transaction adds to the week’s activity in Switzerland’s investment market, with private capital continuing to find opportunities in the financial services sector.
Borel & Barbey appoints Marine Geisler as partner
In a move strengthening its employment law practice, Borel & Barbey has appointed Marine Geisler as a partner, effective 1 January 2027.
Geisler advises companies and private clients on employment and social security law. Having begun her career at the firm, her appointment also represents a homegrown addition to its partnership.
And that wraps up this week’s edition.
Thank you for following Signed, Sealed, Weekend. We will be back next Friday with another round-up of the deals, appointments and developments shaping Switzerland’s legal market.
