Walder Wyss advises Semperit on its acquisition of Rico Group
The listed Austrian Semperit Aktiengesellschaft Holding has acquired RICO Group from its founders. The Semperit Group is a global maker of specialized polymer products for industrial applications, including hoses and belts.
The RICO Group consists of companies in Austria, the US and the Swiss-based SILCOPLAST in Wolfhalden. The group is a globally supplier of silicone injection moulds and manufacturer of liquid silicone components with around 500 employees.
Semperit will maintain Rico’s autonomy in operational areas, with support for corporate functions going forward. They will also maintain Rico’s expansion efforts, continuing construction on the newest facility in Thalheim, with expansion in the U.S. and Switzerland.
Walder Wyss acted as Swiss legal advisor for Semperit and its Austrian legal advisor Binder Grösswang. The team was led by partner Urs P.
