Walder Wyss advises VR Group on acquisition of MTR Express

VR Group, a passenger, logistics and maintenance service company owned by the Finnish state, has acquired the Swedish MTR Express AB from MTR Nordic AB. MTR Express operates a train connection between Stockholm and Gothenburg. The closing of the transaction is subject to competition authority clearing.

Walder Wyss acted as the Swiss legal advisor for VR Group and its Finnish legal advisor Krogerus. This mainly related to the financing and purchase of trains from a Swiss based train manufacturer.
