Walder Wyss helps FIS recover investments

Walder Wyss successfully represented Freight Investor Services (FIS), a broker and service provider in freight and commodity derivatives, in various proceedings before the courts of Geneva and Lausanne. The counseling helped FIS to successfully recover an unrepayed loan.

The dispute arose when FIS’s counterparties refused to repay a loan granted by FIS to a financial intermediary that would have unlocked a structured bond in Luxembourg. After obtaining several judgments in its favor before the Swiss courts, FIS agreed to enter into a settlement agreement. The final deal brought full repayment of its loan plus interest.
