ACC announces annual meeting for October 28-30 in Phoenix. Theme (surprise?): innovation

The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), the trade group of corporate lawyers representing over 45,000 in-house counsel in 85 countries, will hold its annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, in late October.

Conference attendees will include business lawyers, legal service providers and entrepreneurs from over 25 countries. Speaking at the keynote—entitled “Smarter Law: from emotional intelligence to artificial intelligence, turning busy lawyers into business leaders”—will be Trevor Faure, CEO of Smarter Law Solutions and benchmarking partner of ACC.

The leaders of the legal departments of Capital One, Motorola, Starbucks, Thomson Reuters, Western Union and other large companies will participate in the discussions that will continue for two days and that will touch on various topics of interest for corporate lawyers around the world including the legal office performance, corporate regulation, geopolitics, new technologies, legal operations, corporate culture, ethics and compliance.

“As business and technology change, the in-house role is changing with it,” said Veta T. Richardson, president and CEO of ACC. “The 2019 ACC Annual Meeting will give attendees a unique look into the forces reshaping the law departments of the 21st century, like artificial intelligence and recent international regulations, as well as the best practices and perspectives of the best known and most innovative in-house leaders.”
