There’s a change in the legal lineup at Italian fashion houses
Giacomo Leo has switched fashion houses and is now the new general counsel of Valentino. He comes from Bottega Veneta, where he’d been top lawyer since 2015.
Leo takes the baton from Antonella Andrioli—who headed Valentino’s in-house department since February 2006—and will lead a team composed of over 10 lawyers specializing in IP, corporate and commercial matters. The department won the 2018 edition of the Inhousecommunity Awards for In House Team Award of the Year Fashion, Luxury, Design. He’ll answer to the group CEO.
Leo’s departure from Bottega Veneta means that Raffaella Romano, former head of legal affairs for Brioni, will take his place there.
Leo has years of experience as a company lawyer. He worked as general counsel in Poltrone Frau Spa. Before that he was first legal affairs specialist and then head of corporate affairs at Prysmian Group. From 2004 to 2005, Leo worked as Pirelli’s legal affairs specialist. And before that he spent several years at the food producer Barilla, which he joined in 2000 as junior corporate counsel and hnad reached the position of corporate counsel.
