ACC Europe celebrates its 25th anniversary at gathering in Edinburgh
“Being a change agent in disruptive times” is the title chosen by ACC Europe, the Association of Corporate Counsel Europe, for its annual conference. The group, an offshoot of ACC in the U.S., is celebrating its 25th anniversary of activity.
The conference, which began yesterday and ends today, was divided into 17 sessions and in 11 interactive labs. The conference featured today’s hot topics in Europe: legislative changes in the field of competition, artificial intelligence (AI), ongoing negotiations for Brexit, the GDPR, and the generational change in in-house ranks. Of course, networking’s on the agenda, too.
Among the speakers were Simon Fish, president of the global board of directors of ACC and general counsel of BMO Financial Group; Thomas Laubert, vice president and group general counsel of Daimler AG; Joanna Nayler group general counsel by Just and Shannon Thyme Klinger group general counsel of Novartis.
Airbnb, British Telecom, Facebook, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Santander Bank, Unilever, the University of Edinburgh and the European Commission also participated.
