Baker McKenzie advises Tandem on its acquisition of AMF Medical

Baker McKenzie has advised Tandem Diabetes Care, a global insulin delivery and diabetes technology company, on its purchase of AMF Medical, a privately held Swiss insulin patch pump developer.

AMF Medical’s technology aligns well with Tandem Diabetes Care’s strategic vision to include a patch pump in Tandem’s portfolio of differentiated offerings and hence to expand its service portfolio. AMF Medical was founded to develop a patch pump that is not only simple to use for people with diabetes, but also optimized for scale manufacturing.

Baker McKenzie Switzerland advised Tandem Diabetes Care on all legal aspects of the acquisition. The team was led by partner Manuel Meyer (pictured), and also included associates Diana Bellido Gomes, Christian Rioult, Manoé Ruchat, trainees lawyers Gwendolyn Lins and Michel Fabre (all corporate/m&a); antitrust partner Boris Wenger; partner Serge Pannatier and associate Andreas Becker (employment & compensation); partners Alessandro Celli and Julia Schieber, associate Tiziana Hongler and trainee lawyer Franca Steiger (all IP); Muriel Binder (IT); associate Kim Jean Dachtler (real estate) as well as counsel Andrea Bolliger and associate Nathan Bouvier (both tax).

Bass, Berry & Sims has also served as legal advisors to Tandem Diabetes Care. SVB Securities served as exclusive financial advisor. As we have informed here, Homburger served as legal advisor to AMF Medical.
