Baker McKenzie with Bastion on hotel management transition

Baker McKenzie advised The Bastion Collection, owner of The Woodward hotel in Geneva, on the hotel management transition from Oetker Collection to Auberge Resorts Collection and the respective negotiation of a new hotel management agreement. The new hotel manager started its tenure on 1 February 2025.

A  five-star hotel with a Belle Époque façade from 1901, The Woodward hotel is a three-Michelin key facility.  The location hosts Geneva’s only two-Michelin star restaurant, L’Atelier Robuchon, along with The Guerlain Spa and 26 unique suites.

Baker McKenzie advised The Bastion Collection on all legal aspects of this hotel management transition.

Real estate partners Charles Gschwind (Geneva/Zurich, pictured) and Sarah Winston (Chicago) co-led the cross office Baker Mckenzie team on the matter. The real estate team further included partner Jennifer Cohen (Chicago), associate Kim Jean Dachtler (Geneva), associate Alexandra Rayroux (Geneva), and trainee lawyer Valérie Bodevin (Geneva). Moreover, counsel Serge Pannatier (employment) further contributed to the effort, together with associates Tatiana Ayranova (banking & finance, Geneva) and Nadine Charrière (IP, Zurich).
