Bär & Karrer with PAI in Motel One proprietary partnership
Bär & Karrer advised private equity firm PAI Partners in the proprietary partnership for hospitality company Motel One Group.
The context
Founded in 2000, Munich-based hospitality chain Motel One currently operates 96 hotels with 27,223 rooms.
Pursuant to the transaction, PAI Partners becomes the majority owner of Motel One, holding rights to a share of approximately 80% in the operating business. Moreover, Dieter Müller, founder of Motel One, holds-on to his chairman position. Müller will in fact continue working on the development of Motel One’s previously spun-off real estate arm.
