BGPartner advises Lalique Group on acquisition of Fabric Frontline

Lalique Group has signed an agreement to acquire the long-established silk label Fabric Frontline. Founded in Zurich over 40 years ago, the company gained international recognition with its high-quality silk collections that combine quality awareness, individual design and craftsmanship. Lalique Group intends to preserve and revitalise the brand and realise intra-group collaborations. BGPartner has advised the Lalique Group on the transaction.

The Fabric Frontline label – founded in 1980 by the “Zurich silk king” Andi Stutz and his two sisters and owned by the Swiss silk trading company Trudel Fashion Group since 2012 – is known for its high-quality silk accessories, especially foulards.

With the acquisition, Lalique Group is now taking over the brand and will continue Fabric Frontline’s business activities. As announced in July 2022, Lalique Group will in future operate the traditional Zurich hotel “Villa Florhof”, whose name is reminiscent of the silk shop once located on the site, long one of Zurich’s most important industries. The closing of the Fabric Frontline acquisition is expected in the first quarter of 2023. The first collection under new ownership is planned for spring 2024, with Lalique Group counting on the long-standing expertise of its employees and Riccardo Pfenninger, owner of Trudel Fashion.
