Charles Russell Speechlys promotes Robert Avis to partner
Charles Russell Speechlys has welcomed to its partnership Robert Avis (pictured) from its Private Wealth Disputes practice in Switzerland, Geneva, effective 1 May 2023.
The promotion of Avis was one of 6 partnership promotions announced by the firm. The announcement also saw the elevation of two Legal Directors and 11 Senior Associate promotions.
Commenting on the news, Bart Peerless, senior partner at Charles Russell Speechlys, said:

Robert Avis joined the Firm’s Geneva office in 2020. Qualified as a barrister in England, he counsels international and UK clients on multi-jurisdictional private wealth and commercial disputes, frequently collaborating with colleagues across the Firm’s international offices. Day-to-day, Avis navigates contentious trusts and estates issues as well as trust planning and administration matters and provides expert advice on English law issues to the Swiss courts and those of other jurisdictions.
Also promoted from the Geneva office is senior associate Sophie Hart (pictured left). Hart’s practice is centred on UK and international estate planning, with a focus on advising individuals, families and their advisors on Anglo/Swiss wealth protection, lifetime planning, succession structuring and tax mitigation.
