CMS advises GIA Informatik on the acquisition of Avectris
GIA Informatik with registered office in Oftringen has acquired 100% of the shares in Avectris with registered office in Baden from its previous shareholders (Axpo Holding, Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zürich und AEW Energie). By virtue of this transaction, one of the largest Swiss IT service providers with more than 600 employees at the pre-existing locations has been created.
The business of GIA Informatik and Avectris business comprises comparable services on different sales markets. Both entities, thus, complement each other perfectly. Both entities offer holistic IT services including cloud & data centers, workplace solutions, SAP consulting and implementation, RPA, digitalization solutions and CAD/PDM solutions. GIA Informatik is focused on industrial clients, whereas Avectris’ business is centered on utilities providers, health care sector, financial services and service providers.
A team of CMS Zurich led by Stefan Brunnschweiler advised GIA Informatik on all legal aspects of this transaction.
