CMS von Erlach Poncet appoints one partner and three new counsels

CMS von Erlach Poncet announced that Sidonie Morvan has joined the firm as a partner from 1 January 2021. Ms Morvan and her team will add their expertise to the real estate law group in our Geneva office. At the same time, the firm also announced that Louise Lutz Sciamanna, David Hofmann and Fabien Liégeois have been appointed as counsels, respectively within the Public Law, Tax and Private Clients departments.

Sidonie Morvan (pictured) has 20-years experience in real estate law with a wealth of expertise in construction law, having expedited developments in both the private (real estate transactions, brokerages, contracts for architects and builders, and leases) and public (planning and construction permits) sectors. She regularly advises developers, architects, real-estate agents, general contractors, property owners and commercial tenants on the day-to-day management of their businesses, and can represent them before the civil and administrative courts. Her client list includes international and local businesses, institutions and private individuals in addition to well-known players in the Geneva real-estate world. Ms. Morvan is also an associate judge at the Geneva tribunal for leases and rents.

 

Louise Lutz Sciamanna specialises in domestic and cross-border estate and succession planning and advises private clients on wealth planning, prenuptial agreements, wills, inheritance contracts, philanthropy and trusts. She also represents clients in complex inheritance disputes and acts as counsel before Swiss courts. She further advises private clients and entrepreneurs on living wills and powers of attorney for cases of legal incapacity.

David Hofmann is a lawyer specialised in civil procedure (e.g. tenancy law, debt collection and attachment of assets, labour law) as well as administrative and public law (e.g. construction law, state and municipal law, civil service law). He is the author of scientific publications, speaks at conferences, teaches at the Law Faculty of the University of Geneva and is a member of the Geneva Bar Examination Commission.

Fabien Liégeois advises businesses (corporate groups, banks and SMEs) and individuals on Swiss and international taxation matters with special focus on restructuring, cross-border transactions and setting up businesses in Switzerland. He also assists individuals who are relocating to Switzerland. In addition, Dr Liégeois regularly defends taxpayers in litigation proceedings regarding tax matters.
